The future of Bailey Hall

The future of Bailey Hall

Bailey Residence Hall has always been up for debate, and finally Daniel Adams and few of the residence life staff have determined its fate. We interviewed Adams and asked about what plans they had for Bailey Hall, “the current plan for Bailey Hall is to turn it into an occupational therapy school, but the long term plan is to continue to expand PC’s post-grad programs and offer on-campus grad programs similar to the PA school and pharmacy programs.” Bailey is currently closed down and unavailable to students due to living conditions that do not meet PC’s standards. Bailey had mold, water damage and an unknown, disgusting smell. Many students refused to live in Bailey when it was available as a residential option. We asked Chase Arington what he thought of Bailey when he lived there, “Oh when I lived there, you would always smell something that was a mix of feet and dirty socks. I moved out as soon as I could because of that smell, and the bathrooms were the grossest thing I’ve ever seen.” Bailey was closed down due to many complaints and the addition of new senior housing next to Springs. These plans of changing Bailey from a residence hall to an occupational therapy program building have not been announced to the students yet; however, everyone has been wondering what is next in store for Bailey. The students will have all of their questions answered soon when more information is released. Right now, this is the only information available due to Bailey still being in a planning phase.
