With teams, alumni, and coaches present, Presbyterian College officially broke ground on an $8.2 million dollar project to help renovate some of the school’s athletic facilities Saturday morning.

Known as the “Championship Spirit,” the project will bring a new multipurpose athletic facility, new stadiums for the baseball & softball teams, and renovations to the Templeton Physical Education Center.

PC president Dr. Matthew vandenBerg gave thanks to all the donors and alumni supportive of the project with additional remarks from Board of Trustees member Tom Free (’91), football coach Steve Englehart, women’s basketball coach Alaura Sharp, and baseball player Kyle Merkle (’23), president of the Student Athlete Advisory Council.
