On October 3rd, Presbyterian College hosted Dr. Briguente and the South Carolina Bach Society. The S.C. Bach Society is a performing arts organization that “presents quality performances of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and his contemporaries.” Performers David Rhyne, Christopher Hutton, and Shannon Hoover from the Bach Society partnered with PC’s Dr. Giovani Estéfano Briguente and sophomore Jack Thompson to play a Bach-inspired jazz concert.
The whole room was engulfed in beautiful melodies from the piano and flute. Jack carried the rhythms and beats beautifully. Edmunds Hall was alive and well with the fun yet classic twist on jazz. The turnout was impressive as well. Almost half of the auditorium was filled with music lovers, showering the performers with applause.
