On April 2nd, following Easter Sunday, the Student Activities Board (SAB) organized an Easter event in celebration of the holiday. There were three tables set up: one decorated with prizes from the Easter egg hunt, another with donuts for those who attended, and an egg dying station.
At the beginning of the event, the organizers took time to hide over 200 eggs in and around Neville Hall. While waiting, attendees mingled and dyed eggs with an assortment of colors. There were five prizes: a vinyl record player, wireless headphones, a cup warmer, a popcorn marker, and Wavelength, the party game. Five of the eggs hidden in Neville were called the “golden eggs” (although they were silver) and each corresponded to a specific prize. All the other eggs were filled with an assortment of candy.
With cheap trash bags in hand, the assembled group of attendees began hunting when signaled “go,” some sprinting around the side in a strategic move while a majority sped through the middle of Neville to reach the fountain out front. Scuffling and shouts of joy resounded as people located eggs, especially golden ones.
The egg hunt was over in roughly ten minutes, and everyone gathered near the prizes. The “golden” egg winners were allowed to open them and receive their prize on the table. The event concluded with a few winners’ photos and mingling.
In honor of Easter, it was enjoyable to attend, so thank you, SAB leaders!
