Since Valentine’s Day is just around the proverbial corner, today’s “Freshman 15” takes on a romantic twist à la the old game show, “The Newlywed Game.” Seth and Madison, two first-year students here at PC, have been dating since high school. I asked each of them the same fifteen questions and also asked them to guess what the other’s answer would be.

1. What was your favorite vacation?

Seth: “My favorite vacation was when I went to Disney World the summer after the 7th grade.”
Madison guessed Seth would say: “Any of his trips to Disney World or possibly his trip to Cape Cod”
Madison: “My trip to Italy and Greece”
Seth guessed Madison would say: “Greece?”

2. What time do you normally wake up on the weekends?

Seth: “On the weekends I’m normally up before 11. 10 is my favorite, and past 11 is too late.”
Madison guessed Seth would say: “11:00”
Madison: “11:00”
Seth guessed Madison would say: “Around 10”

3. What is your favorite part of the human face? Why?

Seth: “My Favorite part of the human face is the mouth.  Eyes are pretty, yes, but the mouth can smile, sing, and taste.”
Madison guessed Seth would say: “Eyes because you can tell a lot about someone through their eyes.”
Madison: “Eyes because they show how someone is feeling, and everyone’s eye color is unique”
Seth guessed Madison would say: “Eyes”

4. What is your favorite book?

Seth: “My favorite book is 1984.”
Madison guessed Seth would say: “1984”
Madison: “One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest or Change of Heart”
Seth guessed Madison would say: “The Kite Runner”

5. What is your biggest pet peeve?

Seth: “I don’t really have one. I do find it annoying when men, in a crowded place, insist on sitting with their legs spread wide . . . and when people say ‘supposebly’ instead of ‘supposedly.’”
Madison guessed Seth would say: “When people are judgmental”
Madison: “When people are rude to people when they don’t deserve it”
Seth guessed Madison would say: “When people start to say something and then say ‘nevermind,’ . . . That’s just a guess.”

6. What’s your favorite midnight snack?

Seth: “My favorite midnight snack is pretty much anything . . . cookies, or chips and salsa. It depends on the night.”
Madison guessed Seth would say: “Chips or sour gummy worms”
Madison: “Ice cream”
Seth guessed Madison would say: “Chocolate ice cream with milk”

7. What’s the last thing you bought?

Seth: “The last thing I bought was an indoor Frisbee.”
Madison guessed Seth would say: “Lunch at Dempsey’s” (Madison’s guess was the day after Seth’s answer, so we’ll give this one to ‘em!)

Seth guessed Madison would say: “Lunch, if that counts . . . If not, shampoo, I think”

Seth: “I’m not sure . . . something about love.”
Madison guessed Seth would say: “Give peace a chance.”
Madison: “Try not to judge others before getting to know them; instead, show them love.”
Seth guessed Madison would say: “I think something about love, as well.”

9. What’s a saying that you use a lot?

Seth: “‘See, now that _____ (is just stupid, doesn’t make sense, is awesome, etc.’”
Madison guessed Seth would say: “Oh, how the turntables have turned.”
Madison: “Gosh lee”

10. If you could be famous for anything, what would it be?

Seth: “Being the father of a new art movement”
Madison guessed Seth would say: “Being an artist”
Madison: “Singing”

Seth: “My wallet”

Seth: “I’d like to give Colorado a try.”

Seth: “2nd grade was pretty great.”
