Up ‘Til Dawn

Kayla Handy, Staff Writer

Springs will host a group of students dedicated to the Up ‘Til Dawn campaign every Thursday until Spring Break to get people signed up for the letter-writing campaign scheduled to take place during Greek Week on Monday, March 7th. Teams of ten or more are encouraged to sign up for the event which raises funds for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Students will write letters to solicit donations, all of which will be donated to the cause.

The finale event is meant to unite the entire campus and community to acknowledge the achievements and honor patients at St. Jude. Students stay “Up ‘Til Dawn” under the mottos “Fight the yawn – stay awake to cure childhood cancer” and “Cancer doesn’t sleep, so neither should we” to symbolize the countless nights that parents stay up with their sick children at the hospital.

St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, located in Memphis, TN, is a world leader in the research of catastrophic childhood diseases. They share any and all information with other hospitals around the world so that children who don’t live near Memphis can receive the same treatment near their home.
