PC DEFEATS TENNESSEE 10-6

Steven Richardson led the Presbyterian College baseball team in an outstanding pitching effort Tuesday evening to lead the Blue Hose to a 10-6 victory over the Tennessee Volunteers.

PC improves its record to 18-11 while Tennessee falls to 19-10. With the win against the Volunteers, PC improves to their streak of non conference victories to 10 straight.

Richardson had an amazing outing giving up 5 hits, 3 runs (2 earned), while striking out 5 in 8 innings of work. The lefthander improved his overall season record improved to 4-2.

Tony Micklon bombed his 8th home run of the season tying teammate Brad Zebedis for the team lead as well as the conference lead. Micklon posted 2 hits and 4 RBI on the evening. Gabe Grammer went a perfect 4-4 at the plate scoring twice. Zebedis added two doubles and a single, batting in 3 runs. Nate Horton batted in two runs and an RBI as well.

Micklon’s three run homer in the 8th went over the left field fence to which gave PC a 10-2 lead. Tennessee earned one run in the 8th inning but Richardson would limit the damage to 10-3. Nick Ferguson entered the game to pitch for PC in the 9th and gave up 2 earned runs. Chandler Knox then came in to secure the last two outs while allowing only 1 run and sealing the 10-6 victory.
