SUB Trivia Night

SUB Trivia Night

In honor of PC’s 2013 Homecoming Weekend, the Student Union Board sponsored a trivia night as a chance to celebrate the upcoming event with students and faculty. The event was held on Thursday, October 24th in Springs Campus Center from 6-8pm. According to SUB’s Vice President of Marketing, Leah Lawson, “there were around thirty people that participated in the trivia games while a large number of other students and faculties came to hang out and eat wings.” Never having hosted an event like this before, SUB was pleased with the turnout!

The participants, given the choice of being on a team of up to four members or of participating individually, played two games with four rounds. The question topics included: movies, academics, music, PC history, and more! It was also a nice touch having Dr. Spatta and Jack Warren serve as the MC’s for the night. They asked the questions and announced the answers during the games. After Dr. Spatta and Jack announced a question, music would play out of large speakers, adding a little intensity to the game as well as creating an upbeat setting. Players had until the song ended to answer the question and whoever answered the most questions correctly—thus gaining the most points– won. SUB captured the true embodiment of a game show experience. By bringing student and faculty together, SUB created a fun and relaxing setting outside of the classroom. Considering that this was the first time SUB has hosted a trivia night, the night was a major success!
