Chick-fil-A now in Laurens!

Conner McCoy, Staff Writer

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard about the arrival of the Laurens county Chick-fil-A, which officially opened its doors on Sept. 2 of this year. Many students have been dreaming of this day since arriving at PC, and some of the most enthusiastic even (reportedly) skipped class to go to the grand opening.

The restaurant, if you’ve never been, is a fast-food chain specializing in chicken products and boasts inventing the chicken sandwich. Whether or not that is true is questionable, but with more than 1,900 locations worldwide and bringing in billions of dollars every year, many would call their products good, to say the least. And being situated at 917 E Main St. in Laurens, across from the Sonic and Wal-Mart, it’s only about an 11-minute drive from campus.

When a Chick-fil-A restaurant opens, it often does a “First 100 Giveaway,” in which the first 100 customers are given the chance to win the grand prize of one free meal (consisting of one sandwich, medium waffle fries and medium drink) every week for one whole year. Needless to say, the grand opening of the Laurens restaurant was packed with prize-seekers and Chick-fil-A lovers, including many PC students.

Whether or not you go there for the food or just to hang out with friends, Chick-fil-A will surely find its way into the hearts of many students here at PC.
