Great news for all PC students! Due to a new collaboration with 7/11, PC’s “The Pod” is going to be renovated into a brand new, shiny 7/11!! What does that mean for the students, how long will we be without a store, and will The Pod ever return?

What does the addition of a 7/11 mean? Well, for starters, it’s everything you expect from a regular 7/11! Snacks and drinks (just like our beloved Pod had), but also the addition of pizza, hot dogs, pretzels, slushies, and even a hot drink bar decked out with coffees, teas, and hot chocolates! However, additional snacks aren’t all that’s being added! Late night snack runs are about to be a whole lot easier. No more having to hop in your car and driving to Ingles or the gas station to get a snack or fighting with the vending machines after The Pod’s closing! This 7/11 has already guaranteed that it will close after midnight, but the rumor is that this 7/11 will be open 24/7! So you’ll always have your choice of snack or energy drink when you’re inevitably up at 2am cramming for your exam in the morning. You’ll also find more work-study opportunities if you prefer working at night! If that wasn’t enough, gas pumps will be added to the back of Springs, where you can fill up your car and use your bonus bucks to pay!

While the excitement for this new addition stirs, many can’t help but wonder: how long will we be without a store and what’s going to happen to the Starbucks currently in The Pod? Well, it’s been confirmed that with the addition of the coffee bar in the 7/11, the Starbucks will be no more (much to the dismay of many). As for a time frame, a specific open date has not been announced, but it’s speculated to be April 1st, 2027!
